Photoshop basics.

Print both collages today to black & white printer; make sure name is on paper; put in basket; print from MS Word (drag both photoshop files into a new MS Word document, then print).

task1 : Create a United States collage in Photoshop:

• create new folder for project-US collage - student name
  
• canvas size: 4 X 4 inches
• find pictures/elements on google images-save in folder
  
• use layers for each element:US flag, bald eagle, statue of liberty, words to star bangled banner, rock (for background),fireworks
  
• note: you will have to cut out parts of pictures (eagle, statue, etc.)
  
• see final collage here

task2 : Create a collage of your choice in Photoshop:

• create a collage of another country or city
  
• create new folder for project-my collage - student name
  
• canvas size: 4 X 4 inches
• find pictures on google images-save in folder
  
• use layers for each element:
• flag for that city/country
  
• use at least 6 pictures that represent that city/country
  
• note: you will have to cut out parts of pictures

• download practice photos here you'll need for the exercise
• save finished photo

Project: Flash Video Gallery for North which will show North activities (sports, drama, classroom, rep rally, talent show, etc.)

How to get a grade for this week: show Mr. Dino a working video clip in Dreamweaver at your desktop

Begin editing North sports video

• edit in iMovie (save local!); check your avail. hard drive space
  
• show only 5 seconds of each sport - show only action (players in motion)
• create preview images from each sport - 180 x 135 pixels, save as jpeg

Begn editing North rep rally video

• use the streaming video file (<30mb)>
• only export the clip you want to use on the web page (don't export the whole movie!)
• edited clips should be less than one minute!
  
• edit in iMovie (save local!); check your avail. hard drive space
  
• show action shots, students cheering, musical chairs, luau, sumo wrestling, food eating contest
  
• create preview images from each activity- 180 x 135 pixels, save as jpeg
• you need at least 4 video clips (and thumbnails) from the rep rally
