Per 1, 2,3 Intro to Web Programming

Announcement

• Missing Earbuds from lab-don't take earbuds out of the magnet rooms! This is theft!
  

• Magnet Summer Camp Job - DigitalCUrrents.
  

• The period of employment is from June 4-20.
  
• They will have the first week at CU-Boulder where they will plan for the camp and learn about the campus in Boulder.
  
• The second week they will be back in Denver and teaching incoming freshmen Magnet students helping them build and online magazine that would include multimedia, journalistic writing, animation, surveys and photography.
  
• The third week they will work on a team project with CU students.
• We will hire 4 students from North and 4 from TJ.

Classwork

Part 1: Use Adobe Illustrator to scan in artwork; animate in flash

• use Adobe Illustrator to scan in own artwork (use handout)
  
• animate the object in Flash with a fade in (motion tween)
  
• create two masks over the object (you will have to do 2 fades/motion tweens)
  
• watch video tutorial for flash masking here
• put finished .fla (flash file) into Rich Media drop box
• make sure you name is on your file: student_name_mask.fla
  

Tutorial: Do a flash review on parts of flash you don't know how to do a fade or glow; use this tutorial

• animated masks lesson (video)

Download photos from Juan's portfolio and trace in color using Adobe Illustrator (use handouts)

• Photos for Juan Herrera portfolio: courseware/resources/WebApps/Rich Media/juan herrera portfolio
• crop (if necessary) first in photoshop-save photos as .jpg
• trace each photo in adobe illustrator, using this trace setting: photo low fidelity
• export each photo as pic1.swf (see handout on tracing)
• in flash, don't use a swf file that is greater than 800kb!
• in flash, images should fade into each other and show for about 3 seconds
• portfolio must load quickly
• your final .swf file should be less than 1mb

Turn in your two movies today-export from iMovie as quicktime for CD-Rom.

• I need to see the logo and vidmix effects
  

Put two quicktime movies (.mov) into a folder with your name: name_imovie_plugins

• put folder into advweb1 drop box
  

iMovie editing with blue screen editing
-create a logo in photoshop (specs are here )
-watch video on how to apply it here
-watch vidmix tutorial

• create a short movie in iMovie about your talking points (in the video); combine this with your video
